I grew up in the City and have lived here continuously since 1977. Before real estate skyrocketed to unbelievable levels, San Francisco was a magnet for culture and the arts. The City was home to legendary musicians such as Journey, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Huey Lewis & the News, Metallica, Sylvester, Carlos Santana, Green Day, Steve Miller Band, and Sly & the Family Stone to name a few. Now, I can't even think of any major music act that came out of SF since 2000. The one thing that really hasn't changed over the years is our vibrant food scene. Those who've been here since the 1980s will wax nostalgic at groundbreaking restaurants like Masa's, Stars, The Flying Saucer, Spork, Aqua, Cypress Club, Postrio, and Square One. However, even the food scene seems to have "cooled down" in this City since the pandemic. For 2 years in a row now, no Bay Area food institution was awarded a James Beard award and only one made it in World's 50 Best for 2024: Single Thread in Healdsburg.

I fell in love with the city the first time I visted in the 80s. For me, since I'm unable to drive due to my poor eyesight, a major factor is that it's one of the few cities where it's easy to get around without a car and the only one where it doesn't snow.

Why does she have to rub it in when she talked about billionaires row, stating that money wasn’t an option for her. For a San Francisco native that was born and raised here and can’t afford to ever buy a home even in the most dirt bag neighborhood that comment irks me.

The only one I'd considered a Local is the guy who grew up in the East Bay Area, with the woman from Sacramento as a Nor Cal Local. The reset of them are transplants.

I viewed this community when I was looking for condos in SF. The design and layout are some of the best I've seen in San Francisco and the community is beautiful. The HOA is insane (like close to $2K), it's hard to get deliveries, uber, Doordash to Yerba Buena and you have to believe the developer can totally nail the vision they're creating. If the developer can nail it, it'll be a wonderful place to live. I was impressed but passed mostly due to the HOA pricing and the early-stage nature of the development

I think this is such a cool option for people who don’t necessarily want to be in the city, but don’t want to commute too far for everything in this city has to offer. On an unrelated note, I LOVE your top!😂

This feels pretty misleading compared to the actual experience driving through treasure island. Would have been more informative if this video covered any of the cons of living on treasure island/ yb since there are plenty of legitimate considerations worth acknowledging.

I absolutely adore San Francisco! It’s my favorite city in America. I still daydream about moving there sometimes. It’s just too expensive for me but I can always visit. San Francisco, New Orleans, NYC, Austin and San Antonio are my favorite cities!

Id be interested in living there due to the high cost of living, dysfunctional government and justice system, inadequate police, leftwing politics, rampant drug use, rampant crime, excessive garbage, feces on the streets, and a population which enables all of this to happen.

I feel like Im watching an ad....Im out!

My feeling is that unless one makes a big income and yes you mentioned ‘tech’.. then it’s plausible to move here…. But sadly my millennial kids cannot afford San Francisco or the Bay Area. One has been working for the same firm in Brisbane for 5 years, has a college degree and still lives with us because they cannot afford to buy a home and cannot afford to rent, and the other moved to a city on the other side of the continent and has started a new life there because she was able to buy a home on one salary…. And has a masters from a private university in Manhattan but chose to work in a field where she helps people in need…..

At 1:32 you highlight SoMA on the map. Then when you talk about it you end up talking a lot about the high rises in South Beach, which isn't in the SoMA area highlighted on the map.
